Billericay started positively and had 2 chances foiled within the first 5 minutes, Haringey on the counter attack had a striker 1 on 1 with Hollie Dimambro in goal for Billericay, it looked certain that the Haringey striker only had to select where to place the ball but Dimambro’s timing was perfect and deflected the strike away for a corner. Billericay cleared their defence, Kerry Oldham collecting the loose ball ran through midfield past a defender and threaded the ball out wide to Paris Smith who rounded the keeper and side footed the ball into the net on the 9th minute. The game continued with great passing on a very heavy pitch, Lisa Blundell and Hayley Spallin in midfield were controlling the play cutting out any passes to Haringey’s forwards, on the 22nd minute Smith with her back to the visitors goal controlled the ball on her chest brought down, turned and played a perfect pass to Lisa Silverton who cut inside beating the keeper and side footing the ball into the net. Haringey are a good side but Billericay were on form and stopped them playing, Blundell was having an excellent game, she won the ball and spread it wide to Smith who got behind the fullback and drove low and hard, the ball going in between the keeper and the near post. (29th minute).
Second half saw a more determined Haringey take to the field, their pace up front was electrifying but Billericay’s defence of Leanne Wood, Vanessa Wilson, Rebecca Allan and Ginnie James dealt with the attacks.
Billericay’s next 3 goals were definitely team efforts, 53rd minute, Dimambro played out to Woods, her pass down the line to Oldham was back heeled to Silverton who attacked the wing her pace got her in behind the full back her pass across the edge of the box to Sarah Bovington was driven low and hard into the bottom left corner.
Billericay’s front 2 worked hard all afternoon and their link up play saw Silverton score in the 55th minute. On the 60th minute Haringey broke on the counter attack and their pace saw them score with a shot hit with pace. Billericay then soaked up 10 minutes of pressure, on the 71st minute Jo Peacock replaced the hardworking Blundell, 73rd minute Kiran Hare replaced injured Smith, Billericay were back in control on the 74th minute when Bovington took the ball far into the visitors corner she cleverly played the ball wide past 2 covering defenders and crossed to Silverton who made no mistake she skipped past the defender to place low past the diving keeper, on 75th minute Sam Edwards replaced Silverton.
