Billericay Town LFC Reserves vs Foxash LFC (League Div3)
News story posted:
24 Nov '09 11:01Billericay Town LFC Reserves visited Foxash LFC for a Division 3 league match. Both teams arrived at the ground after a huge rain storm, meaning the game was lucky to go ahead, but the pitch was in good condition.
From the opening minutes of the game Billericay started the game at a high tempo, with Eike Mangold, Donna Ralph, Jo Attridge, and Tracy Rodd all going close, but with the Foxash keeper playing very well it wasn't until the 30th minute that Billericay scored their first goal. Elaine Sykes found Jo Attridge just outside the Foxash penalty area on the left hand side, and with a sublime finish Attridge found the top right hand corner of the net, giving the keeper no chance, 1-0. With the Billericay defence of Eastabrook, Docherty and Bowman playing well Foxash were unable to put any pressure on the Billericay goal.
Half time 1-0
The second half continued in the same vein with Billericay playing probably their best football of the season, creating chance after chance. But again it took a great long shot, this time from Lisa Robins to beat a very good Foxash keeper, 2-0. Then again in the 38th minute a great turn and shot again by Lisa Robins gave the Foxash keeper no chance, 3-0.
Full time 3-0
A good result for Billericay, and as I said at times played probably our best football of the season, lets hope we can keep this confidence going for the next game.
Team - H Jacob, K Bowman, H Docherty (Capt.), A Eastabrook, E Sykes, T Rodd, L Robins, C Hunt, J Attridge, D Ralph, E Mangold, R Strauss, V Wilson
